The former Tottenham star has struggled badly in his time at the San Siro since arriving last January. He has fallen firmly out of favour with Antonio Conte and has made just 11 appearances this season. Indeed, many of these appearances have been token arrivals off the bench. According to Gazzetta dello Sport earlier this week, Eriksen has an agreement with Inter to leave the San Siro in January. Manchester United were strongly linked with his signature on Monday. Now Inter’s transfer chief Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed Eriksen is on the transfer list and will leave in January. “Yes, I can confirm that Christian Eriksen is on the transfer list. He’s going to leave in January,” he told Sky Italia. “He’s not functional to our plans and he has had difficulty here at Inter. I think it’s right that Christian goes away to find more space. “Obviously we will need to find a solution. “That is not any insult towards his professionalism, there is no punishment. “It’s just a situation that has developed and it’s only fair he goes where he can play more regularly.” Marotta’s somewhat hurtful confirmation follows an admission last month that the Dane has asked to go.   Asked about his last-minute appearance off the bench in a recent Serie A game, Marotta defended Conte. “Conte responded in expansive fashion. We can’t keep a player who at the moment is asking to be sold,” Marotta told DAZN in November. “We will make the right evaluations. At the moment he’s available and Conte is using him in a way that is respectful of the club. “Offers? At the moment they have yet to arrive. Should that change we will try to find the right combination.” Eriksen has not scored or assisted a goal with Inter this season, with only five starts to his name.
