Liverpool face the prospect of seeing an exit-bound lynchpin switch Premier League clubs, while Tottenham advance towards the return of a former star – all in the latest Euro Paper Talk.
WOLVES EYE WIJNALDUM DEAL
Wolves have offered Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum a bumper three-year contract, according to a report.
The Dutchman looks likely to leave Anfield at the end of the season when his contract expires. Indeed, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp recently failed to offer much encouragement about his player’s situation.
Klopp referenced former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, who left on a free transfer in 2018 after rejecting an extension.
As for his next destination, several reports have claimed that Barcelona are keen on signing the 29-year-old. Barca boss Ronald Koeman is a firm admirer of his fellow countryman, with the pair working together at the Netherlands.
According to Todofichajes, though, a move to Barca has become ‘impossible’.
As such, Wolves have swooped in and offered the midfielder a three-year deal. The source claims that Wijnaldum, who is close to agreeing the transfer, will match his current salary with the move to Molineux.
The report adds that Wijnaldum ‘does not want to wait any longer’ to seal his next career switch.
The 2016 signing from Newcastle has proved one of Klopp‘s most reliable players. Indeed, he played more Premier League minutes than any other teammate last season.
This term, meanwhile, he has already racked up 21 appearances and stayed injury free amid Liverpool’s crisis.
