A prized Arsenal academy graduate is pondering his future after a proposal from Liverpool, while Tottenham eye a striker bid – all in the latest Euro Paper Talk.
LIVERPOOL CHASING BALOGUN
Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun feels torn over his future amid a new proposal from Liverpool, according to a report.
The 19-year-old’s contract in north London runs out in June but he has yet to agree an extension.
Indeed, recent reports have suggested that talks between player and club have failed to result in a breakthrough. As such, his Gunners exit looks likely.
What’s more, previous speculation from The Athletic added that the USA-born forward is likely to move abroad as opposed to sealing a Premier League switch.
According to Todofichajes, though, Liverpool have ‘contacted’ Balogun’s representatives and offered them their proposal.
The source states that while Balogun is ‘happy’ in north London, the offer is making him ‘rethink’ his future. However, the report does not offer details of Liverpool’s interest.
In addition, Todofichajes adds that Arsenal have not made their final effort at convincing Balogun, which could prove crucial in deciding the player’s fate.
In any case, Liverpool reportedly hope to seal Balogun’s arrival at Anfield in the coming weeks. Indeed, the teenager is free to speak to other clubs in January due to his contractual situation.
Balogun, who has risen through Arsenal’s youth ranks, has made his first-team debut this season. He has made five senior appearances, scoring two goals and assisting another in four Europa League games.
