Kevin Campbell believes Dele Alli is set to leave Tottenham in January and says Paris St-Germain is his likely destination.
Spurs sit second in the Premier League after a bright start. But England star Alli has had to watch on from the sidelines.
He’s played just 66 minutes in Tottenham’s league campaign so far. And Alli has even had to spend time on the bench when Jose Mourinho has played weakened sides in Europe.
It seems there is no place for him with Mourinho at the helm. And Campbell believes he needs to act soon.
Speaking to Football Insider, the former Arsenal striker said: “There is talk of PSG and that might suit him. Link up with Neymar and Mbappe there.
“I truly believe if he doesn’t get game time for Spurs between now and January, he’ll go out on loan and it’s up to him after that.
“He’s a good player, we know he can score. He’s been an England player for years and all of a sudden he falls off a cliff.
“We’ve seen it happen with Mourinho before. There’s always one and Dele Alli is the one who has fallen down the pecking order.
“He’s got to get himself sorted and get a club. He’ll get himself sorted because he’s talented.”
Alli linked with Premier League switch
With just six weeks to go until the next transfer window opens, Alli has been the subject of further links.
LeedsLive report that one of those clubs is Leeds United.
How serious this is remains to be seen. Although, Alli does have an excellent relationship with one of Leeds’ main stars this season.
Alli played with Patrick Bamford at MK Dons when the in-form Leeds striker had a season on loan there in 2012/13.
And when Bamford scored his hat-trick against Aston Villa last month, Alli was quick to send a congratulatory message.
Alli wrote on Instagram: “My brother @patrick_bamford. So proud and happy for you.”
Leeds made a bright start to the season after winning promotion back to the Premier League.
But they’ve suffered 4-1 defeats in their last two matches.
That could cause Marcelo Bielsa to seek quality reinforcements during the transfer window. Alli, at his best, obviously fits that bill.
