Euro Paper Talk: Tottenham near free return of Christian Eriksen with duo off to Inter; Chelsea bid for Belgium striker Christian Eriksen is heading back to Tottenham, with the deal not costing Daniel Levy a penny, while Chelsea’s interest in an explosive Belgian striker has been revealed, according to Wednesday’s Euro Paper Talk.   CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN SET FOR TOTTENHAM RETURN Tottenham have reportedly opened talks with Inter Milan over a deal to bring Christian Eriksen back to the club. And according to reports in Italy, Spurs could bring the Dane back without spending a penny! Eriksen departed north London last January as Spurs’ efforts to tie him to a new deal failed. With time ticking away on his contract, Eriksen was allowed to join Inter for a fee of €20m. The move to Serie A, however, has not worked out as planned. Eriksen has struggled to adapt to the tactical demands of Antonio Conte. The Italian’s favoured 3-4-3 formation even looks to have stifled Eriksen’s game. With not one goal or assist this season, Inter are now willing to let the player leave in January. As per Calciomercato, the player has ‘not found the feeling’ to life at Inter. They state Inter are actively looking to offload Eriksen as a result. Discussions with PSG have taken place, but they look unlikely to sign him. Instead, it’s claimed talks have been held with Tottenham and the Italian outlet reports ‘something could happen’ in the winter window.   Indeed, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Inter’s finances are tight. Instead, they will consider a swap deal with Spurs with Danny Rose and Dele Alli the two players on offer in a straight swap. Under the headline, ‘Eriksen poised: sensational return, exchange hypothesis’, Calciomercato states a three-way exchange is being discussed. Both Dele and Rose are out of favour under Mourinho and it would be no surprise to see them leave. The fact Spurs could get Eriksen back in return could be a situation that suits all parties.   Eriksen coy on Tottenham return Eriksen has previously distanced himself from talk linking him with a return to Tottenham. Speaking in September, the midfielder appeared willing to roll up his sleeves. “I am used to always being a starter, while now I’m in a new situation,” he admitted. “I have to work my way out of it and only then look back and see if I was right or wrong. “You have to take everything as it comes. I feel I have done my part and overall, I was happy with the choice I made to come to Inter and I still am.” Eriksen reportedly fancies a January move to PSG. However, reports claim he could be persuaded to return to Spurs were that to be the most viable option.   Subscribe to TEAMtalk’s daily newsletter…   CHELSEA MADE LATE BID FOR JEREMY DOKU Chelsea almost agreed a late deal to beat Rennes to the signing of Jeremy Doku this summer, claims the Belgian striker’s father. Christian Eriksen is heading back to Tottenham, with the deal not costing Daniel Levy a penny, while Chelsea’s interest in an explosive Belgian striker has been revealed, according to Wednesday’s Euro Paper Talk.

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN SET FOR TOTTENHAM RETURN

Tottenham have reportedly opened talks with Inter Milan over a deal to bring Christian Eriksen back to the club.

Eriksen coy on Tottenham return

Eriksen has previously distanced himself from talk linking him with a return to Tottenham.

Speaking in September, the midfielder appeared willing to roll up his sleeves.

“I am used to always being a starter, while now I’m in a new situation,” he admitted. “I have to work my way out of it and only then look back and see if I was right or wrong.

“You have to take everything as it comes. I feel I have done my part and overall, I was happy with the choice I made to come to Inter and I still am.”

Eriksen reportedly fancies a January move to PSG. However, reports claim he could be persuaded to return to Spurs were that to be the most viable option.
