That does not deter the veteran manager, however, with Ancelotti revealing that he is relishing the different style of project. “I think every club has its own different project, its own goal,” said Ancelotti (via The Express). “If you go to Milan, Real Madrid, it’s clear that the target is to win. “Here at Everton, for now, the target is to be competitive in the Premier League and Europe, to reach Europe next season. “It is a bit different. But the fact I feel good here, I would like to stay more than two or three years that I have usually done in the past at teams where I’ve trained. “I would like to stay a little bit more because the project is also a bit different. “Of course we would like to win, and I think we are going to win, but it takes time. “It is going to take a little bit more time than at the other top teams that I managed.” Ancelotti clarifies goalkeeping situation Meanwhile, the Italian has moved to clarify the uncertainty in Everton’s goalkeeping ranks after Jordan Pickford was benched in their defeat to Newcastle. Ancelotti gave a debut to Robin Olsen in goal, taking Jordan Pickford out of the firing line. Despite being unable to keep a clean sheet, the Swede made a couple of decent saves. However, Ancelotti already confirmed before the game that Pickford would be back in place for the next game. Clarifying his position afterwards, the Everton boss insists he has two equally balanced keepers to choose from. “Robin (Olsen) did well. He did his job,” he said. “He deserves to play.
