Newcastle star Allan Saint-Maximin has opened up about his future plans and admits he dreams of playing in the Champions League.
The 23-year-old has be one of Newcastle’s shining lights after arriving from Nice last year in a £16.5m deal.
The left winger has proved to be an astute signing and no wonder United got the player to pen a deal under 2025 when he signed.
Saint-Maximin featured 26 times last season, scoring three goals and grabbing five assists. This term he has one goal and one assist from three games and has been attracting the interest of the top clubs.

Le10Sport claimed Mikel Arteta at Arsenal was tracking the progress of the French winger. The Gunners were thought to be lining up targets in case Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette left the club.
Another impressive season from Saint-Maximin will surely heighten the interest in the speedy wideman and the player himself says his future depends on the club’s “development”.
“For my part, everything will depend on this development,” Saint-Maximin told sport.fr.
“If the club is developing well, and it’s in line with my desires, staying is a possibility. Afterwards, if things don’t turn out like that, obviously the question of leaving will arise.
“Now we’re in a huge league with a lot of big teams, so being able to play in Europe and the Europa League would be really great.
Bruce’s challenge
“The Champions League is a big dream, every footballer wants to play it. It’s a great, historic club that has a lot of dreams, and there is everything around it to achieve this goal.”
In June Steve Bruce challenged Saint-Maximin to strive for consistency.
Bruce said: “If people are talking about him, good. It means he’s doing it on the pitch.
“People are talking about Allan and [Miguel] Almiron, which means they’re performing on the pitch. That’s all they can focus on and let the rest look after themselves.
“He’s already a fans’ favourite. That has to be the key. Can he reach that consistency that top players have?
“He’s got all the ability to be a top player, it’s now the mental side to do it week in, week out. That’s the challenge from him and my staff, to get the best out of him.
“But he certainly has the natural ingredients to be anything he wants to be.”
