Alisson reveals stern order he gave Liverpool medics after learning of injury lay-off Alisson Becker has revealed how he refused to accept the prognosis of Liverpool club doctors after first learning of his shoulder injury.  The goalkeeper was ruled out for up to six weeks at the start of October after being hurt in training. As a result, he missed his side’s humiliating 7-2 loss at Aston Villa as well as the 2-2 draw in the Merseyside derby. But he made an unexpected return well ahead of schedule over the weekend, starring in between the sticks as the Reds beat Sheffield United 2-1 at Anfield. And the Brazilian has now explained how he fought back to fitness and got back on the field so quickly. Speaking in a press conference ahead of Liverpool’s meeting with FC Midtjylland (via the Liverpool Echo) he said: “It’s good to be back, first of all. I try to do my best and I have the top physios on my side helping me as well to accelerate the recovery process. “But as soon as the doctor said it was four-to-six weeks, I said ‘no doc, we go to two-to-three weeks, maximum.’ “He agreed with me and then we just went for it and I am really happy to be back. I just want to thank the physios, the fitness staff, the doctors and goalie coaches who helped me in this process.” Prayers and physio behind quick comeback Alisson, who moved to Merseyside from Roma in 2018, also claimed that prayer and hard work in rehabilitation sessions helped were the main factors behind his speedy return to action. The 28-year-old is a devout Christian and has often credited his religious beliefs with bringing him the success he has enjoyed in his career. “I pray a lot! No seriously, I pray a lot,” he revealed. “I prayed, but also did a lot of sessions for treatment. “I was there every day for five or six hours at the club doing treatment with the physios, working with the fitness department. “And after two weeks, being together with the goalkeeper coaches already, doing some catches, not diving, but then two and a half weeks [in], I started to dive. “Then three days before the match I started to work hard with hard kicking, hard shots, catches, diving, full-range diving. “So on Friday, I gave the green light to the boss. So I believe in my faith and working hard helps me for this fast recovery.” READ MORE: Jurgen Klopp has assessed how Liverpool have coped defensively so far in the absence of Virgil van Dijk.   The post Alisson reveals stern order he gave Liverpool medics after learning of injury lay-off appeared first on teamtalk.com. - SPORT BETTING
