With personal terms near to being finalised, that would leave Barcelona only needing to negotiate a fee with Liverpool. A price tag of £15m has been mentioned. That would appear a bargain for a player of his standing. But with 12 months left, Liverpool would prefer some kind of fee now rather than lose the player on a free next summer.
