But despite his stellar career, Silva is big enough to own up when things do not go his way. “I am upset, but I take responsibility for the mistake I made, as I always did,” he wrote on Instagram. “As difficult as it may be, we have to get over this and move on.” There comes a time in everyone’s career when performances begin to drop off. It remains to be seen whether Father Time has caught up with Silva but he assured fans of his dedication to the Chelsea cause. “I promise to all of you that I will give everything I have on the pitch, putting all my energy and commitment into the games to come,” he added. Lampard urges more from Chelsea While not mentioning Thiago Silva by name, Lampard was critical of his charges for their error-strewn display in the West Midlands. In what is expected to be a fierce battle for top-four spots, every point matters and the England legend feels his side dropped a couple.
