Frank Lampard wants one more signing at Chelsea before the window shuts and will finance it by selling three big names, while Manchester United are targeting an Ajax star, according to Wednesday’s transfer gossip.
FOUR SET TO DEPART CHELSEA
Chelsea are reported to have put N’Golo Kante up for sale in a bid to claw back some of their major outlays this summer.
The Blues are set to take their summer spending close to the £250m mark this summer. Edouard Mendy is set to be the latest addition in a busy summer for Frank Lampard’s side.
However, Chelsea are not done there yet.
A report in the Daily Express claims Lampard remains desperate to get his hands on Declan Rice. Prising the star from West Ham though won’t come cheap. Chelsea are likely to have spend £70m on the player. The England man could yet end up costing a club-record £75m fee if the Hammers play hardball.
In order to further their chances, the Express quote transfer expert Ian McGarry as saying Chelsea will listen to offers for Kante.
Publicly Lampard has always stated the France star is a big part of his plans.
However, McGarry says otherwise as he told the Transfer Window Podcast he could be a surprise departure.
The spending doesn’t look to be over just yet,” he predicted.
“N’Golo Kante, the French World Cup winner and someone who has been instrumental in Chelsea’s defensive and central midfield area, is absolutely on the market.
“We understand that there is a loan offer for him to go to Inter Milan. Chelsea would prefer to sell.”
Kante won’t be the only exit at Chelsea either. As per The Guardian, Lampard has opened the door to Antonio Rudiger and Callum Hudson-Odoi to also leave. The exit of the duo could fetch around £50 in combined fees.
The Blues are also in talks over the sale of Tiemoue Bakayoko.
According to Le 10 Sport, PSG are keen to sign the midfielder and could bring him in for £30m.
