Window of opportunity for Arsenal after ‘interesting offer’ lodged for free agent Arsenal have lodged an “interesting offer” to Kia Joorabchian for the transfer of Layvin Kurzawa, but the free-agent is interesting Barcelona, claims a report. Catalan paper Sport had “Deal Kurzawa” on their front page on Saturday, while on Sunday they had a piece entitled “Monchi the stumbling block”. Barca are interested in the PSG left-back, whose contract expires in June. What’s more the article says Kurzawa’s manager Joorabchian has a very good relationship with Barcelona’s technical secretary Eric Abidal. Barca have rivals though with Arsenal and now Monchi at Sevilla interested in the 27-year-old, whose €3m-a-year salary will be within his suitors’ sights. Arsenal were interested in the player in January with The Athletic journalist David Ornstein claiming that talks between the Gunners and the Ligue 1 giants had progressed past the initial stages. Ornstein wrote: “Arsenal hope to do more incoming business in January and are working on three to four deals but do not plan on significant expenditure. “They will instead look to utilise the loan market and free transfers, or (as in the case of Kurzawa) sign players with small fees.” A deal for the player never materialised though, however France Football report that the Gunners remain keen on the player and now Sport report that Joorabchian is “handling interesting offers” from Arsenal and Napoli.       They also claim there is interest from from elsewhere, most probably from Sevilla, and Joorabchian is keen to get his client’s future resolved. Kurzawa, as per the source, is said to favour a move to Barcelona, but they currently have two left-backs in their squad – Jordi Alba and Junior Firpo. Firpo though will be made available in the summer, a year after he arrived at the Camp Nou and Barca have asked fot “time to close the departure” to offload in order to bring in Kurzawa. A contract has been laid out in principle, but the LaLiga champions will not make the final offer until the whole Coronavirus crisis is clarified. That could give Arsenal and Mikel Arteta the opportunity to wrap up a deal with Kurzuwa in the meantime, as long as they are prepared to make an agreement while the uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic is ongoing.   The post Window of opportunity for Arsenal after ‘interesting offer’ lodged for free agent appeared first on teamtalk.com. - SPORT BETTING

Arsenal have lodged an “interesting offer” to Kia Joorabchian for the transfer of Layvin Kurzawa, but the free-agent is interesting Barcelona, claims a report.

“They will instead look to utilise the loan market and free transfers, or (as in the case of Kurzawa) sign players with small fees.”

A deal for the player never materialised though, however France Football report that the Gunners remain keen on the player and now Sport report that Joorabchian is “handling interesting offers” from Arsenal and Napoli.
