Tottenham all ears as £30m target confirms he wants Prem switch Tottenham strike target Vedat Muriqi has reportedly stated that he wants to move to the Premier League, if he is sold by Fenerbahce this summer. Turkish newspaper Fotomac, via Sport Witness, claims that the Kosovo international has told the club’s board that he wants to continue his career in England, with Spurs still said to be interested in a move. Jose Mourinho reportedly had scouts sent to watch the 26-year-old forward in action prior to the January transfer window opening, and that interest was ramped up when Harry Kane suffered a potential season-ending injury – although no deal transpired. But it would appear that Spurs are still keen on bringing in Muriqi, who has scored 15 goals in 28 appearances for Fenerbahce this season, as a back-up to the England skipper. The report adds that the Turkish giants could be forced to sell their star striker because of their poor financial situation, with several clubs ready to take advantage of the situation. One of those clubs could be Manchester United, who have also been credited with an interest in Muriqi in the past, although it is thought that Spurs remain the frontrunners for his signature in England. Muriqi’s current contract with Fener will expire at the end of June 2023, meaning that the Turkish outfit could fetch a fee in the region of £20-30m for the forward.     Meanwhile, a PSG and Belgium defender has been ‘clearly won over’ by Jose Mourinho regarding a summer move to Tottenham, though one hurdle must be overcome before the player can pack his bags. Right-back Thomas Meunier is the man in question, with the 28-year-old set to be a free agent in the summer. Spurs have struggled defensively this campaign, with their mark of 40 goals conceded good enough for just joint-tenth best in the Premier League. The departure of England international Kieran Trippier was intended to give Serge Aurier the chance to prove himself at full-back, though his exuberant style of defending would not appear to be a great match for Mourinho’s style. Meunier had emerged as a target for Tottenham earlier in the season, with the club reportedly stepping up their efforts earlier this month.
