Reports recently claimed Sancho had already said yes on a move to Old Trafford, while a move to Liverpool, who have also been linked, looks to be off the table. The Standard also claims United believe they can land Grealish for around £60m this summer, regardless of whether Villa are relegated or not, while the paper claims they will go back in for Haaland after missing out in January should Borussia Dortmund give any indication they are willing to sell. It’s a similar story with De Ligt, who snubbed United last summer in favour of Juventus. But a failure to command regular football, together with the financial difficulties experienced by all Italian clubs, means the Old Lady could be forced to cash in. A swap deap with Paul Pogba has also been suggested. In the event Solskjaer fails to land his first-choice targets, the Standard has, interestingly, named six other players they could look to pursue this summer should they fail to capture their priority list of players. They claim James Maddison is their Plan B to Grealish, while Birmingham’s Jude Bellingham – rated at £25m – is also high on their agenda. Ajax star Donny van de Beek is also said to be an option, though it’s believed the Dutchman will join Real Madrid.
