Man Utd to see opening Jadon Sancho bid rejected; told why Jack Grealish transfer is difficult Manchester United may need to take a patient approach to land top target Jadon Sancho and can firmly expect their opening bid for the winger to be rejected by Borussia Dortmund, according to one observer. England winger Sancho, 20, has become one of European football’s hottest properties since his departure to the Bundesliga nearly three years ago. A host of Premier League heavyweights have all registered interest in bringing the vibrant forward back to England, with Jamie Carragher recently urging Liverpool to beat the Red Devils to his signature. It is Man Utd who appear to be in pole position, however, with a recent report giving United fans hope the club will be extremely active in the next window. Dortmund have garnered a reputation for developing some of football’s brightest young talent, evidenced by the immediate returns shown since the January arrival of Erling Braut Haaland. So it comes as no surprise to see then, that the club reportedly tried to tempt Man Utd into letting rising forward Mason Greenwood move in the opposite direction in order to facilitate Sancho’s exit to Old Trafford. However, in an interview with the Daily Express, University of Liverpool senior teacher and football finance expert Kieran Maguire reckons United will land their man, but must be prepared to spent a long time haggling over his fee and ultimately be prepared to lavish a £100m+ sum to land the talented 20-year-old. “You’ve got to look at it on a deal by deal basis,” Maguire told the paper. “First of all Manchester United have a strong balance sheet, they had £100m in the bank at the end of December, I appreciate that since then they have signed Bruno Fernandes.     “But even so Manchester United are very successful, they’ve got great commercial revenue generation so I think they are in a strong position to buy then you’ve got to look at the individual position of the clubs that are selling. “Dortmund, I think will be in a relatively strong position to resist offers, or resist the first offer.”   ‘If Sancho is tough, Grealish is complicated’ Maguire also had his say on United’s pursuit of Jack Grealish and believes a transfer could prove extremely complex. He explained: “For Aston Villa it may be more complicated than that in respect of Jack Grealish. “First of all there is a chance they could get relegated so there would be the financial consequences of that. “Secondly, the club is likely to have lost money in the Premier League this season because of the pandemic. “Now, the one thing Villa have got in their favour is they are owned by two incredibly wealthy owners. “So, if the two owners are willing to pump money into the club then that might maintain Jack Grealish’s price. “If they are not then I think Villa would have to compromise on the price they want for Jack in the summer should they decide to sell.” United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes to spend big money this summer and a report earlier this week listed the 10 targets he had in mind for the club this summer. Meanwhile, United’s January recruit Bruno Fernandes has named a surprising player when asked who he would sign to strengthen the Red Devils midfield.     The post Man Utd to see opening Jadon Sancho bid rejected; told why Jack Grealish transfer is difficult appeared first on teamtalk.com. - SPORT BETTING

Manchester United may need to take a patient approach to land top target Jadon Sancho and can firmly expect their opening bid for the winger to be rejected by Borussia Dortmund, according to one observer.

“Dortmund, I think will be in a relatively strong position to resist offers, or resist the first offer.”

Maguire also had his say on United’s pursuit of Jack Grealish and believes a transfer could prove extremely complex.
