Man Utd star trolls Liverpool by saying Premier League season should be scrapped Luke Shaw says the Premier League season should be “scrapped” and voided if the campaign cannot be finished in front of the fans.  The Manchester United man had England colleague Ruben Loftus-Cheek in stitches of laughter after he was asked what should happen to the current season, which is suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic. That would be a sickening blow to Liverpool, who lead the Premier League by 25 points and need just two wins to secure their first top-flight title for 30 years. There are still 92 matches left to play – with suggestions that the league could start up again in June with an intensive two-month fixture list to see the season completed. UEFA confirmed last week that the Saturday 3pm blackout has been lifted, which has prompted suggestions that games will be played behind closed doors. Therefore Premier League games kicking off on a Saturday afternoon would then be able to be shown live on Sky Sports and BT Sport. Asked if Liverpool should be awarded the title or whether the season should be scrapped, Shaw said during a Combat Corona Twitch FIFA competition: “Scrap it and start again. Start it again yeah. It’s gotta be you know. If we can’t carry it on it’s got to be void.” Shaw also seems reluctant to finish the season with fans locked out of games. “Fans are so important. You realise it even more [now]. I think the sport is for fans really, do you know what I mean? I think if you don’t have fans, and you don’t play in front of fans, it just doesn’t feel right,” added Shaw. “Especially on matchday the fans are always amazing and always help the team. Whether it’s home or even away, our fans are always brilliant and I feel like they’re always there with us.” Shaw’s opponent, Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek swerved the question, but did burst out laughing at the United man’s views. Loftus-Cheek said: “The fans are what make football what it is. You saw a few games at the end of the season – well, not the end of the season, but recently – without the fans and it wasn’t the same, it was so far off what football feels like when fans are screaming, cheering.” The post Man Utd star trolls Liverpool by saying Premier League season should be scrapped appeared first on teamtalk.com. - SPORT BETTING

Luke Shaw says the Premier League season should be “scrapped” and voided if the campaign cannot be finished in front of the fans.

If we can’t carry it on it’s got to be void.”

Shaw also seems reluctant to finish the season with fans locked out of games.

Whether it’s home or even away, our fans are always brilliant and I feel like they’re always there with us.”

Shaw’s opponent, Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek swerved the question, but did burst out laughing at the United man’s views.

Loftus-Cheek said: “The fans are what make football what it is. You saw a few games at the end of the season – well, not the end of the season, but recently – without the fans and it wasn’t the same, it was so far off what football feels like when fans are screaming, cheering.”
