Liverpool green light to sign talented Bremen attacker in cut-price deal Liverpool have received positive news in their bid to sign versatile Werder Bremen attacker Milot Rashica after fresh comments from the player’s agent and they could get him for a cut-price fee. The Reds have been keeping a close watch on the talented 23-year-old from Kosovo, who has scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 24 appearances this season. Those numbers reflect his ability to play in different positions across the front line and that’s what makes him such an attractive proposition to Jurgen Klopp as the German boss looks to strengthen his options up front rather than put the full load on Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. Rashica operates mainly on the left-wing but can operate through the middle too and reaching double digits with his goal tally this season shows his ability to finish. And he’s done that in a side which sits second bottom of the Bundesliga with just 18 points from 24 games. Bremen’s precarious position in the German top-flight adds an extra angle which could play into Liverpool’s hands. Currently, he has a £33m (€38m) release clause in his contract which keeps him at Werder until 2022 but they may have to cash in for much cheaper than that – £17m (€20m) according to some reports – if suffering relegation. Rashica’s agent, Atlin Lala, says approaches have been made and there will be further news when football resumes, hinting that Liverpool could be in position to swoop.   “Before the coronavirus crisis, we were in contact with some clubs – including those from the Bundesliga,” Lala told German publication Sport1. “At the moment, everything is standing still. “I am sure that soon, when we are back to normal, there will be movement on the topic and something will definitely happen. “It is clear that until the end of the season Milot will concentrate entirely on staying up with Werder Bremen.” While not specifically naming clubs, Liverpool are thought to be leading the chase while reports in Germany have also listed Premier League rivals West Ham, Wolves and Aston Villa. Borussia Dortmund are also thought to be keeping tabs on the Kosovan international, possibly as a replacement for Jadon Sancho if the England star departs in the summer.
