Gary Neville reveals why he wants Tottenham man to be the ‘perfect’ signing for Man Utd Gary Neville insists that Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane would be a ‘perfect’ signing for Manchester United this summer. Kane admitted last month that he could quit the north London club if Spurs do not progress because he wants to win trophies ‘sooner rather than later’. The 26-year-old has established himself as one of the most prolific goalscorers in world football over the past six seasons, scoring 181 goals in 278 appearances for Spurs, despite having his fair share of injury problems. The Red Devils are known to have expressed interest in signing the England skipper this summer and Neville says Kane would be a ‘perfect’ signing for his old club, even at the £200million asking price, He told Sky Sports: “Any club in the Premier League would want Harry Kane. There are some signings that are like gold. Barring the ridiculous you just know they would work. “Kane is unbreakable in terms of his mentality. He will always score goals, he will always work hard in training. He’s completely reliable. “For Manchester United it would be a perfect signing. They had Bruno Fernandes come in and he’s done really well, Harry Maguire at the back. If they can get someone like Kane up front, you’re looking at a fantastic spine.’ On Kane’s suggestion that he could leave Tottenham, Neville added: “I did work with him for England and he’s a clever lad. “He’s not somebody I think would get caught out if he didn’t mean to say something.] “The little door he left open in that Instagram piece with Jamie [Redknapp] had something in it. “What I would also say is I don’t think Harry Kane will have been that impressed with what his club did a couple of weeks ago [furloughing staff]. “I think he’s a good lad Harry Kane, a solid lad. He was probably poking them back a little, I don’t know because I’ve not spoken to him. “But I think he said that as a warning, I’m watching you because that’s not something we do.” Two names cited as Madrid consider players-plus-cash offer for Kane Real Madrid could offer Gareth Bale a return to Tottenham as part of an offer to bring Harry Kane to the Spanish capital, according to reports. Manchester United have been touted as a potential next destination, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continuing the transformation of his team. According to Mundo Deportivo, however, Madrid are “keeping an eye” on Kane ahead of a possible swoop when the transfer window re-opens. As such, Bale could be offered back to Spurs, while James Rodriguez is another who could be sacrificed to make a deal cheaper.
