If I choose Anderlecht, my wife will kill me,” he told VIER (via Sport Witness). Alternatively, Vertonghen could still seek one last big move, with some reports suggesting that Antonio Conte wants him to follow former Spurs teammate Christian Eriksen to Inter Milan. Eriksen’s contract was also due to expire at the end of the season, before he swapped Spurs for the San Siro in January – and Inter could add Vertonghen to their wishlist as they look for cheap deals. Alternatively, he could complete a high-profile return to first club Ajax, with coach Erik Ten Hag confirming they are monitoring his situation.
