Report reveals tempting Solskjaer ploy could sway Sancho to Man Utd Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s track record of developing youngsters could prove vital in their hunt to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, according to reports. Sancho became one of European football’s hottest properties last summer after a stunning season in the Bundesliga and United were said to be interested in a move then. The England international has stepped it up a gear this term, having scored 17 goals and assisted 19 others in 35 appearances and now reportedly tops Solskjaer’s list of targets for the summer transfer window. According to the Evening Standard, United were “desperate” to sign Sancho last summer and with an extra year in his development, the Red Devils believe that this summer is the right time to make their big-money move. Indeed, United’s chances are said to be boosted by the fact that Solskjaer has shown an excellent record of developing young players in his time at Old Trafford. Eighteen-year-old Mason Greenwood is one such player who has benefited from the faith shown by his manager, having scored 14 goals and assisted four others in 38 appearances. Elsewhere, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, 22, was brought in from Crystal Palace last summer and has shown solid development at right-back. Anthony Martial, who has been criticised under former United managers Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho, has also begun to flourish.     Aside from Solskjaer‘s willingness to throw in young players, the report adds that United are among only a few clubs in the world capable of paying the £100million-plus Dortmund will want for Sancho’s sale. As well as both aforementioned factors, Solskjaer has shown solid recruitment with the January additions of Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo, who have both made an immediate impact upon their arrival to Old Trafford. In other news, United are reportedly willing to pay £50million to sign Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabon international has just over one year remaining on his current deal and has been heavily linked with a move away at the end of the current campaign.
