Pogba and Raiola in stand-off over Manchester United future Paul Pogba and Mino Raiola are believed to be in conflict over the Manchester United player’s future, claims a report. Pogba, who has not featured since Boxing Day, could well have been back in first-team training now had the coronavirus not suspended the game across the world. Pogba has been struggling with an ankle problem that he underwent surgery on, but the 27-year-old midfielder has still strongly been linked with the likes of Juventus and Real Madrid this summer. He is out of contract in 2021, though United hold an option to extend that by 12 months and this week it was claimed they will trigger that as they have done with Nemanja Matic. However, it’s claimed United were looking to trigger Pogba’s extension in order to protect their interest in the player and ensure they can claim the maximum transfer fee they can for the midfielder. Furthermore, it was claimed that United are, in fact, actively seeking a buyer for Pogba and are said to have informed interested parties of their new asking price for him. That is in line with what his agent Raiola is thinking, but Pogba, according to the Manchester Evening News is looking for a new long-term contract at Old Trafford. The report claims the France international is having second thoughts on his future at the club and, after the arrival of Bruno Fernandes, wants to stay.       Earlier this month Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed Pogba would be at Old Trafford next season. “Paul’s our player,” Solskjaer is quoted as saying following the 5-0 win over LASK of Linz, per The Telegraph’s James Ducker. “He has two years left on his contract, a year plus the option of another. You can expect Paul to be here [next season], yeah.” However, the controversial agent is still determined to move Pogba on and there could well be a stand-off between the pair.
