Part of Woodward’s strategy comes from the fact that United could miss out on Champions League football for next season if the campaign resumes in due course, which would sway Bellingham towards the German top flight.     As well as that, the United chief is well aware that the Red Devils were beaten to the signing of Erling Braut Haaland by Borussia Dortmund, who have a knack of signing young talents having also captured Jadon Sancho after his Manchester City exit.
