Liverpool and Barcelona have joined a growing list of clubs keen on Rennes’ teenage midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, reports Sport.
Barca apparently want a midfielder in the mould of Yaya Toure and the Spanish outlet claim Camavinga fits the ball with the LaLiga giants prepared to pay up to €50m for his services.
Liverpool are understood to be looking st strengthening their midfield with Adam Lallana set to leave in the summer and Georginio Wijnaldum yet to formally sign a new deal at Anfield.
Arsenal and Manchester United are already tracking the France U-21 star, who was promoted from the club’s B side in January 2019.
In November The Sun claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side would go head-to-head with reigning LaLiga champions Barca to sign him.
Camavinga, who was born in Angola, was recently awarded French citizenship and earned his first Under-21 cap for the World Cup champions when he was called up to replace Arsenal’s Matteo Guendouzi, who was moved up to the senior squad.
The central midfielder has made 36 appearances this season and reportedly has a £26.5m release clause in his current deal – which expires in 2022.
