The stance of Man City has been made crystal clear with regards to the potential transfer of Riyad Mahrez to PSG, according to a report.
The Algeria international has been a capable performer since his 2018 move to the Etihad, yet despite his on-pitch successes, has yet to assume a regular starters role under Pep Guardiola.
The forward has contributed seven goals and 10 assists in the current Premier League campaign, figures that are quite remarkable given he has been named in the starting eleven on just 15 occasions.
Due to his lack of consistent game time, rumours recently abounded of a blockbuster move to French powerhouse PSG.
With Kylian Mbappe regularly linked with a world record switch to Real Madrid, Mahrez was seen as an ideal replacement in the forward line, with one publication listing the minimum price the switch would cost the Parisians.
However, British newspaper the Sun state that Man City are in no mood to offload the winger, with the player himself even open to extending his current £180,000-a-week terms with the club.
Mahrez’s current deal runs until the summer of 2023, and the Sun state that City will wait at least another 12 months before entering into discussions over an extension.
The publication cite an Etihad source that revealed: “There is interest but we have no intentions of letting Riyad go anywhere.
“He has told Pep he is very happy and finally feels he has found his place in the set-up despite being in and out the team.
“We are comfortable with it all and won’t discuss another contract until next year at the very earliest.”
Meanwhile, City forward Raheem Sterling has said he still ‘loves’ Liverpool after being asked if he would ever return to Anfield.
Sterling burst onto the scene as a teenager with the Reds before leaving for City in a bitter and protracted deal worth an initial £44million in 2015.
He has since developed into one of the best players in Europe but he has always been booed on his returns to Anfield.
Speaking via the Instagram account of his representatives Colossal Sports Management, Sterling said: “Would I ever go back to Liverpool? To be honest with you, I love Liverpool.
