Indeed, previous reports have claimed that the Reds have moved into a strong position to sign the striker, with the likes of Chelsea backing off from their approach. Speaking to SportBild (via Sport Witness), Krosche has confirmed that he has a plan in mind for if Werner does depart. He said: “It is quite normal for Timo to become the focus of other clubs. But that doesn’t give me sleepless nights. “We are prepared, we have alternatives in mind.” The newspaper goes on to name three targets Leipzig are looking at as Sparta Prague striker Adam Hlozek, Santos’ Kaio Jorge and FC Copenhagen attacker Mohammed Daramy. Hlozek, who was promoted to Sparta’s first team in January last year, has netted five times and assisted eight goals in 26 appearances.
