Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta could be looking for a brand new strikeforce this summer after talk emerged surrounding Alexandre Lacazette’s future.
A report in the Sunday Mirror claimed Arsenal are considering a summer move for Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard as they aim to build ahead of next season.
Apparently Hoops hitman Edouard is in Arteta’s sights, having scored 61 goals in 125 appearances since his arrival from PSG in 2018 and he has been targeted regardless of what the future holds for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Lacazette.
Now AS via Calciomercato claim that Spanish boss Arteta is willing to let Lacazette go in the summer and Atletico Madrid are interested in his services.
The 28-year-old, who has scored seven goals in 20 Premier League games this season, is under contract until 2022. It’s thought Arteta will allow the former Lyon star to move on after benching him in the last three Premier League fixtures.
Lacazette signed for €53million, plus up to €7million in potential bonuses in July 2017 and Arteta will be hoping he can recoup the majority of that fee with more than two years of his current deal to run.
Arteta of course could be left with the prospect of seeing both Lacazette and Aubameyang leave this summer.
The Gunners are understood to be prepared to sell the 30-year-old striker this summer, rather than let the Gabon forward run down his contract which expires in 2021.
According to Spanish outlet Diario Madridista Arsenal have offered Aubameyang to Zinedine Zidane’s side and are awaiting news from the LaLiga giants.
The report claims Real could offer Dani Ceballos as part of any potential deal, with the Spain midfielder currently on loan at The Emirates.
