Ancelotti seeks reunion with Napoli stalwart once tracked by Tottenham Carlo Ancelotti is hoping to be reunited with Napoli winger Jose Callejon at Everton, according to reports. Callejon is out of contract at the end of the season, and at 33 years old, it could well be time for a change of scenery – although Napoli are still working to extend his stay at the Stadio San Paolo. There is no shortage of suitors for the Spaniard, though, who was once a target for Tottenham Hotspur when they were managed by Mauricio Pochettino – and he has now re-appeared on the horizon for a Premier League rival. According to The Athletic, via Sky Sports, Everton will do battle with a pair of Spanish clubs for the signature of Callejon as a free agent. Valencia and Espanyol want to take the winger back to his native Spain, and are currently understood to be ahead of Everton in the race – but the presence of Ancelotti at Goodison Park may be a factor working in the Toffees’ favour. However, Callejon could yet stay at Napoli, with his agent Manuel Garcia Quilon telling Sevilla ABC: “Napoli president De Laurentiis has always wanted to renew his contract. “We are grateful for the interest shown towards Jose. At this time there is no agreement, the two positions are very respectable and there has never been a discussion of any kind between the parties. There is mutual affection. We’ll see.” Callejon was also linked with Aston Villa in January as they sought attacking depth, but it is unclear whether or not they still hold an interest.     The post Ancelotti seeks reunion with Napoli stalwart once tracked by Tottenham appeared first on teamtalk.com. - SPORT BETTING
