Outspoken Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurentiis says his team will approach the game against Liverpool in an “angry” manner.
Liverpool have drawn the Serie A side again in Champions League this season and De Laurentiis has hinted that revenge may well be in the air.
Napoli defeated Liverpool 1-0 at the Stadio San Paolo before Liverpool defeated Carlo Ancelotti’s men by the same scoreline at Anfield in a result which pushed the Italians towards the Europa League.
De Laurentiis, speaking about the Champions League, told Sky SportL “Liverpool? We beat the Reds in a friendly with a wide margin (4-0), but I wouldn’t want him to give our people some peace of mind. We must enter the field very angry, very concentrated as if we were playing the game of the year.
“Because every game must be the match of the year, only in this way can we reach goals.”
Speaking about the race for the Serie A title, he added: “Sometimes we don’t have to respect the ranks of importance within the team. Anyone who arrived late must leave room for those who did all the preparation But it is difficult to leave out the best and for this reason we cannot attribute errors to Ancelotti.”
In an interview with Le Parisien, De Laurentiis also took a cheap shot at Liverpool.
“Can you imagine waking up every day in Liverpool? You only have the house of the Beatles, Abbey Road,” he said.
