Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira could have left the Gunners for AC Milan this summer, his agent has claimed.
The battling midfielder was heavily linked with a move to AC Milan to link up with is old boss at Sampdoria Marco Giampaolo.
Sportitalia claimed earlier in the summer that the Uruguay star had told Arsenal he wanted to leave, while Gazzetta Dello Sport insisted that Torreira was Giampaolo’s no.1 summer target.
Torreira though, who did admit to struggling with life in England, further distanced himself from the Milan talk last month.
“It’s been a pretty big change for me. Genoa is a much smaller city than London, but every week I feel more comfortable and learn new things about the way of life,” he told Four Four Two.
“When I arrived, we saw traditional landmarks, trying to get my bearings.
“Now it feels more like home. It was the best option. This is a huge club with massive support across the world.
“The fans and everyone associated with the club have made me feel so welcome. I really feel like a part of the family here.”
Now though it appears there was a possibility of Torreira leaving for Milan, but Arsenal quickly blocked any prospective transfer.
“There was a possibility that he joins Milan,” his agent Pablo Bentancur told TMW.
“However, Arsenal communicated that they have no intention to sell him.”
