There is even a chance that Khedira – who was recently in attendance at one of Arsenal’s friendlies – could be signed beyond Thursday’s transfer deadline, as it is claimed he wants to be released from his contract so that he can sign for the Gunners as a free agent. The 32-year-old is surplus to requirements at the Serie A champions following the arrivals of Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot, so they are looking for a solution to get his wages off the books.
