Everton’s efforts to sign a winger did not end in vain, however, after the manager Marco Silva secured the services of Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi on deadline day for a fee reported by the BBC to be an initial £28 million, rising to £34 million with potential add-ons. Iwobi became the eighth and final recruit to pass through the doors at Goodison Park, following in the footsteps of Andre Gomes, Jonal Lossl, Sebastian Kristensen, Fabian Delph, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Moise Kean and Djibril Sidibe (loan).
