Ferguson is apparently good friends with McGinn’s grandad Jack, and he apparently believed that the Scotland international would be the perfect signing to resolve United’s lack of ‘energy and goal threat’. Villa though are apparently after £50million for their prized midfielder, which is believed to be the asking price for another United target in Sean Longstaff.
