Prized Liverpool teenager set for surprise loan move to League One side Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn is set to join League One side Oxford United on loan, according to the latest reports. The forward has played a part in Jurgen Klopp’s preseason plans as he went on tour with the rest of the senior squad to the United States. However, once they arrived back in the UK the decision was made by Klopp to cut Woodburn and two others from the squad as they travelled to Edinburgh to play Napoli. The Wales international spent the first half of last season on loan at Sheffield United but struggled to make an impact, and his spell there was even cut short in January.   Now, the Mail Online are claiming that another decision has been made regarding Woodburn’s future – this time one to loan him to a League One side in order to get consistent game time. Oxford United are showing an interest and are apparently the most likely candidates at this stage, with the possibility for their Liverpool-born manager Karl Robinson to aid the 19-year-old’s development. Woodburn burst onto the scene when making his Liverpool debut in November 2016 to become the third-youngest player in the club’s history. He scored on his second appearance against Leeds in a League Cup tie at the age of 17 years and 45 days.   Get the latest personalised Reds products on our new TEAMtalk Liverpool shop!   The post Prized Liverpool teenager set for surprise loan move to League One side appeared first on teamtalk.com. - SPORT BETTING
