A French World Cup winner is reportedly considering making a move to Man Utd, while West Ham are chasing a former Arsenal and Tottenham striker, according to Monday’s newspapers.
JUVENTUS MIDFIELD STAR PONDERING UNITED MOVE
Manchester United have received a transfer boost in their pursuit of midfield reinforcements as World Cup winner Blaise Matuidi is reportedly considering a move to Old Trafford. (Daily Express)
Matuidi has slipped down the pecking order at Juve after their summer recruitment drive left the club with a wealth of midfielders.
The France international has not ruled out a return to PSG, but a report in the Daily Express claims that 32-year-old likes the idea of finding a new challenge in England ahead of the new Premier League season.
According to Sunday’s edition of Italian newspaper Corriere di Torino, Matuidi is also keen on quitting the Turin giants to secure a starting role after Maurizio Sarri’s summer spending spree.
The report goes on to add that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could push for a deal to sign the 32-year-old, should Real Madrid match the club’s valuation of Paul Pogba before the window in England closes on August 8.
Although talks have cooled since Pogba returned to the Red Devils to take part in pre-season training, Los Blancos remain confident of securing a deal during the next week.
United are also believed to be close to deals for Portugal star Bruno Fernandes and Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, which appears to lean towards the possibility that Pogba will go if suitable replacements are found.
