Man City snub chance to sign star as Bayern turn to €100m Liverpool target Bayern Munich have offered Manchester City the chance to sign one of their star defenders as part of a fresh bid for Leroy Sane – but it has quickly been rejected. Sane is one of Bayern’s top targets this summer following the departures of long-serving wingers Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben, with several members of the Bundesliga champions’ squad talking up the Germany international. However, Pep Guardiola has made it clear that he still sees a future at City for Sane, despite the winger only registering 21 league starts last season. Bayern are refusing to give up on the former Schalke man though, with CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge telling Bild that Guardiola may not know “what’s going on in his club” after the City boss discussed his long-term vision for Sane. Now, Mundo Deportivo claim that Bayern have launched a player-plus-cash bid which would see Austrian left-back David Alaba move to the Etihad Stadium. City have struggled for depth in that position during Guardiola’s reign, with Benjamin Mendy often struggling with injuries, and midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko being deployed there as cover. However, such is their desire to keep Sane that they have rejected the offer. The Spanish outlet also suggest that Bayern have made a similar offer to Barcelona – who are also in need of a left-back and have been linked with a couple of Liverpool targets – for Ousmane Dembele. The French winger’s future could be compounded by the potential return of Neymar to the Camp Nou, which has led the German giants to believe he could be available. He previously played for Bayern’s rivals Borussia Dortmund, and has regularly been linked with Liverpool. And as if the saga couldn’t get any more complicated, the notorious Don Balon claim that Guardiola also wants Dembele – but only if Sane does leave.   Get the latest personalised City products on our new TEAMtalk Manchester City shop!   The post Man City snub chance to sign star as Bayern turn to €100m Liverpool target appeared first on teamtalk.com. - SPORT BETTING
