Maguire has one Man Utd dream as anger at Leicester’s £90m stance grows Harry Maguire is growing frustrated at Leicester City for their stance on a potential move to Manchester United, a report claims. United are hoping to bring in a top-level centre-back before the transfer window shuts next month and it is widely reported that the England international is in the Old Trafford giants’ sights. They are understood to have submitted an opening £70million bid earlier this month, while there were claims at the weekend that an improved bid of £80m had been made. It has been suggested that a fee of as much as £90m could be demanded by the Foxes as they stand firm on their prized asset. Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers addressed the speculation on Tuesday night and said the player would only leave if their asking price was met. “We don’t have to sell Harry,” Rodgers said. “Harry has been absolutely brilliant about this right from the word go. He’s a top, top player and a top guy. I thunk it’s important the supporters know that. “I’ve been in this situation before with players and it’s not always easy but Harry has been absolutely superb. We’ve had a chat about it, obviously. “He’s happy and I tip my hat to him for the way he’s dealt with all this because it can be unsettling. “There’s a value that hasn’t been met yet and my support is to him. He’s a special player and we want to keep him but, of course, time will tell.   And now Sky Sports have claimed that Maguire is ‘frustrated at Leicester’s stance’ and sources understand that he ‘would be honoured to play for Manchester United’. Maguire is also thought to be keen to ‘follow in the footsteps of his heroes Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand’. Meanwhile, a report from The Sun states that Maguire has his heart set on becoming United captain, to emulate the aforementioned duo. Meanwhile, Rodgers insists there will soon be a deadline set on completing the deal – and he won’t let it go down to when the window formally shuts at 5pm on August 8. When asked about a cut-off point for transfer dealings for Maguire, Rodgers said: “Yes, there will be. “We can’t leave ourselves short. “There are obviously targets we have in mind if Harry was to move on. But we don’t have to sell and we don’t need to sell. “If the valuation isn’t met, it certainly won’t be allowed to go to the very end because if we did want to bring someone in it would be too late so there will be a point in time where even if the valuation is met, it may be too late.”   Get the latest personalised Red Devils products on our new TEAMtalk Man Utd shop!   The post Maguire has one Man Utd dream as anger at Leicester’s £90m stance grows appeared first on teamtalk.com. - SPORT BETTING
