Turkish-Football claims the comment “sparked a media storm in Turkey with just about every sports newspaper, website and agency sharing the story and pushing the idea that Lovren could be headed to Besiktas”. It’s fair to say that Besiktas fans have gone pretty wild at the prospect, but the source reported that Besiktas told them that Lovren “is not on the shortlist this summer”. Recent reports have claimed that the Reds were looking to part ways with the 29-year-old, having agreed to sell the AC Milan target for £17.5million. However, Sky Sports News stated that Liverpool are ‘not looking to sell’ Lovren and have ‘not set an asking price’ for the Croatia international.
