Leeds respond to Qatari takeover talk as fund turns attention to Milan Leeds United have denied that they are in talks with a Qatari fund over a possible takeover, while reports in Italy suggest AC Milan are now the targets. Reports last month claimed Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani had met with QSI chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi to discuss selling a stake in the club. However, the Championship side went to some lengths to deny the claims and suggested talks were held merely over the mutual TV broadcasting rights owned by the two men. Despite this, reports earlier in the week suggested that a deal is very much still on, and that it was down to the ‘finalising’ stages. Now, James Mooney – Head of Media and Communications at Leeds United – has once again denied the speculation in an interview on Calciomercato.com. When asked if there is any truth about the negotiations between Qatar Sports Investment and Leeds United, he replied: “Not at all. “Nasser is a close personal friend of Andrea Radrizzani. They worked together on BeIN Sports and they remain friends with business interests. “There have been no discussions regarding Leeds United Football Club. Pure rumour.” Meanwhile, speculation in the Italian media continues to gather steam that QSI have turned their focus to a takeover of Milan. Milan-based outlet Adnkronos state their sources have been made aware that ‘negotiations have started’ between representatives from both sides. They state that the first meeting between the Qatari investment fund and representatives of Milan ‘took place in Milano at the beginning of the week’. From the Qatari side, megotiations are apparently being driven by a very high level personality – not believed to Nasser El-Khelaifi but a person very close to the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Contacted by Adnkronos, Milan did not comment on the reports.   Get the latest personalised Whites products on our new TEAMtalk Leeds United shop!   The post Leeds respond to Qatari takeover talk as fund turns attention to Milan appeared first on teamtalk.com. - SPORT BETTING
