After the match, Klopp said it appeared Larouci had been “lucky” not to have suffered a more serious injury after he was forced off the field in the 80th minute as the Reds slipped to a 2-1 defeat. “It looks like he was lucky,” Klopp told reporters at his post-match press conference. “Of course, how it always is with these things we have to wait a little bit.” Gnagnon was immediately shown a red card for the kick to Larouci’s leg while the scores were level at 1-1. Asked for specifics on Larouci’s injury, Klopp added: “He hit him full throttle and, in that moment, [if it was] a little bit different position where he hit him then it’s done. He rolls… he is a sports boy so that was OK, nothing happened there. “I don’t know 100 per cent. It looks like he was lucky but I only spoke quickly to the doc and that’s what he said, but we have to see.” Assessing the defeat and their pre-season schedule, Klopp admitted he will be glad to welcome back their some of their international stars in the coming weeks. “I can’t blame anybody for the opponents because I planned the pre-season, so let’s play in New York against Sporting, then against Napoli in Edinburgh – at least it will not be as warm as it was today, that’s for sure,” he added on Liverpool’s official website. “I don’t think the whole of June in Scotland was as warm as today! “Then we go on a training camp, which is unbelievably important, three players back – Mo [Salah], Bobby [Firmino] and Ali [Alisson Becker] – from tournaments. They should be fine, we’ll see how fit they are, they had a training programme. “Hopefully Naby [Keita] and Shaq [Xherdan shaqiri] will be back as well.
