Lionel Messi has told Barcelona chiefs to sign one of his international teammates, Manchester United will ask for a Real Madrid starlet on loan, and Spurs want a Spain U21 star – according to Sunday’s European papers.
MAN UTD DEALT BLOW IN DYBALA CHASE
Lionel Messi has asked Barcelona to pursue a move for his compatriot Paulo Dybala, according to reports in Spain.
The pair came third in the Copa America with Argentina this week, and now it is claimed they could team up at club level too.
According to Don Balon, Messi wants Barcelona to target Juventus star Dybala – but only if their move for Antoine Griezmann falls through.
Griezmann has made his intentions to leave Atletico Madrid clear, although his proposed move to Barcelona is not making much progress. The French striker will refuse to attend Atletico’s pre-season tour in his efforts to push through the transfer, according to Marca.
It had previously been thought that Dybala – who struggled to reach his usual standards in the shadows of Cristiano Ronaldo last season – would have been more likely to join Manchester United, as he had been proposed as part of a potential swap with Paul Pogba. However, given his improving relationship with Messi, Barcelona could now take pole position.
