Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti has warned the club he will leave if they sell Kalidou Koulibaly this summer.
The centre-back is understood to be on a list of defensive targets at Manchester United, just as he was last summer.
Only last week il Corriere dello Sport claimed United had launched a final €100million bid for the Senegal international, while reports emerged earlier this month also suggested that Liverpool had entered the race to sign him.
However, the biggest rival to United could be Manchester City, who recently were said to have placed an £85m bid with Napoli for his services.
Now though Ancelotti, who is on holiday in Canada – where his wife is from, has laid out an ultimatum.
“If there is no Kalidou, I will not even come back from Canada,” Ancelotti said, as cited by Calciomercato.
Napoli are in no rush to sell Koulibaly, but Aurelio De Laurentiis offloaded Jorginho and Gonzalo Higuain last season after stating they were not for sale.
“I don’t know [if I’ll still be at Napoli next year], I think so,” Koulibaly told Goal following Senegal’s 2-0 win over Tanzania. “But I have to play the Afcon and then after that I’ll go back to Napoli.
“Everyone’s speaking about me, but I’m only speaking about Senegal, because that’s my objective today and I want to achieve something big with Senegal.”
