The battle to sign Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic is hotting up as the transfer window approaches, with interest from both England and Germany.
After joining for around £18 Million last summer, the striker was one of the few bright sparks in Fulham’s dismal season, scoring 11 goals and getting three assists in 37 games for the relegated London side. He looks unlikely to stay and play for them in the Championship, however, as they look to cash in.
He was previously linked with a big money move to China, but SportBild claims that Bayer Leverkusen are interested in the Serbian, who would cost them in excess of £20 Million.
The German side are reportedly looking to strengthen their attacking options and see Mitrovic as an ideal fit. They’ll need to see off competition if they wish to secure his signature though.
The Fulham man apparently wants to stay in London and would prefer clubs in this area. Tottenham failed in attempts to sign him in January but remain interested, while the Evening Standard reports that West Ham and Crystal Palace are also monitoring the situation.
With his contract running until 2023, Fulham will be looking to receive a large fee to help them in their attempts to return to the Premier League next season.
