Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for former Arsenal academy player Isaac Hayden.
Champions League finalists Spurs are set to end their self-imposed transfer exile this summer, having not signed anyone since Lucas Moura in January 2018.
According to Chronicle Live, one of the first names they will target is Newcastle midfielder Hayden.
Hayden spent eight years on the books at Spurs’ London rivals Arsenal, but never made a Premier League appearance before heading to St James’ Park in 2016. He instantly helped Rafael Benitez’s side secure promotion back to the top flight, and has since kept impressing in the Magpies’ midfield.
The 24-year-old is valued at £20m by his club, and with reports suggesting the midfielder wants to leave for family reasons, it could well be the time to cash in. Hayden has two years left on his contract, meaning his value is likely to decrease soon.
Crystal Palace and West Ham are also showing an interest as the midfielder seeks a return to London, with both sides ambitious to establish themselves in the top half in the near future.
