Liverpool will sign Sporting youngster Andre ‘Nuno’ Cardoso, according to Portuguese newspaper Jornal Madeira.
The 18-year-old centre forward has yet to appear for the Sporting first team, but he looks destined to move on according to the local paper.
The report via Sport Witness claims Cardoso, who is out of contract next month, has been in contact with Liverpool and he “could be on his way” to Anfield.
Apparently some other Champions League sides are interested in the talented forward, who has graduated through the academy at Sporting, however no other teams, bar Liverpool, are named in the report.
The Jornal later claims it’s ‘almost certain’ that the Reds are going to sign the youngster, who has been capped by Portugal at U16 level.
Cardoso is a new name in the frame for the Reds but he will almost certainly go into Neil Critchley’s U23 squad if he does arrive at Kirby.
Young striker Rhian Brewster will again be part of Klopp’s first-team squad next season, while Divock Origi is locked in contract talks and Daniel Sturridge is set to move on.
