Kevin Strootman has been offered to Everton and Manchester on loan, according to a report.
The 29-year-old Marseille midfielder is one of numerous players the Ligue 1 side are looking to offload with the club struggling financially.
Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol tweeted: “Everton and Manchester United offered chance to sign Marseille/Holland midfielder Kevin Strootman on loan.
“Marseille signed him from Roma for £23m last summer. Marseille need to cut costs after disappointing season.”
The Holland international was heavily linked with United when David Moyes and Louis van Gaal were at Old Trafford. The central midfielder, who joined Marseille for £22.5million last summer was also linked with Liverpool.
Before he completed his move to Roma in 2013, Strootman though denied he ever spoke to United.

“I never talked with anybody,” Strootman told The Independent earlier this year. “No, no.
“There was a lot of speculation but to be honest I only spoke with Roma.”
Strootman has had his fair share of injuries in the last few years, although the holding midfielder did make 25 Ligue 1 and Europa League starts last season.
It’s doubtful though he will be of interest to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is looking to lower the age of his squad and has been linked with Dan James and Sean Longstaff.
