The central midfielder, who joined Marseille for £22.5million last summer was also linked with Liverpool. Before he completed his move to Roma in 2013, Strootman though denied he ever spoke to United. It’s doubtful though he will be of interest to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is looking to lower the age of his squad and has been linked with Dan James and Sean Longstaff.
