The France international eventually decided to stay and penned a five-year deal with a release clause that will drop to a fee of around £104million on July 1. Griezmann has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, but Lacazette is also on the radar of Barca as an alternative to Griezmann. Arsenal are aware of interest from the Catalan side and will reportedly sit down with Lacazette’s representatives at the end of the season to negotiate an improved deal. Lacazette, though, has done little to dampen the speculation refusing to dismiss the links. “It’s flattering,” the attacker said via Telefoot, when asked about Barca’s interest over the weekend. Atletico, armed with £100million worth of Griezmann cash, could pose the Gunners a serious problem. The 27-year-old almost joined Atletico before he moved to the Gunners in 2017 for a then club-record £47million. Unai Emery will be desperate to keep hold of the player, who is under contract until 2022, but it is his friendship and on-field partnership with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang that may well be key to keeping Lacazette.
