Radamel Falcao says he intends to try and become a professional baseball player when he retires from football.
The 33-year-old former Man Utd and Chelsea striker is currently playing for Monaco in France and is under contract until 2020.
The 81-cap captain of Colombia has scored 13 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions, but he says he wants to give baseball a go when he finally hangs up his boots.
Falcao told France Football: “I love baseball. When I was young in Venezuela where I grew up, I used to play the sport at a very high level.
“I often speak about it with my wife. I believe that when I finish my footballing career, I’ll try out as a professional baseball player.”
Falcao, who was born in Santa Marta, could return to his homeland, who have a professional baseball league – the Liga Colombiana de Béisbol Profesional.
Alternatively he may fancy the bright lights of America and the MLB.
