The pressure is mounting on Solari, who replaced Julen Lopetegui permanently in November after an impressive run of results while he was in caretaker charge. Now El Chiringuito TV are reporting that Madrid have asked Zidane to replace Solari, but the Frenchman has said he wants to wait until June. Zidane left the club last summer just days after their Champions League win and after two-and-a-half seasons at the helm in which he won the top trophy in Europe in three consecutive seasons. Earlier today the Independent claimed that Real were likely to keep Solari in charge until the summer before appointing a new boss that can bring ‘an exciting new era for the club’. The Real hierarchy want a new manager that will create ‘excitement and happiness’ around the club without any ‘prior baggage or bad relationship’ with any players. The report continued by saying that this is the reason Jurgen Klopp is being considered their top target with Real impressed by his work at Liverpool. Don Balon claim Jose Mourinho is primed to return to the Bernabeu, while former president Ramon Calderon also believes Mourinho is Real’s top target.
