Manchester United have launched a fresh bid for an Inter Milan star, while Juventus won’t give up in their pursuit of Mo Salah, according to Friday’s European papers.
MAN UTD BACK ON MILAN TRAIL
Manchester United are back on the trail of Inter Milan star Milan Skriniar, according to the latest reports from Italy.
It appears evident that United are in the market for an upgrade at centre-half, and they are expected to return in the summer after failing to sign a defender in January.
Kalidou Koulibaly is believed to be the first choice, but it has also been claimed that United have a list of other targets they will pursue if they fail to lure the Napoli star to Old Trafford.
Recent reports have linked United with a move for Leicester’s Harry Maguire, while Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli has also been mentioned as a possible target.
Solskjaer’s side have been linked with a £54m bid for Skriniar, and now according to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb the Red Devils have made a fresh approach, hoping to take advantage of slow progress in talks over a new deal between the defender and his current club.
Their report suggests that an offer of €85million is on the table, although at the moment Skriniar is ‘more likely to stay put’ than leave this summer.
Skriniar’s agent Mithat Halis has provided an update on his client’s future, admitting to interest from abroad.
“Real Madrid want to sign him, Barcelona too,” he said. “The team that can convince Inter will sign him this summer.
“Skriniar has a professional attitude. If Real Madrid want to sign him, they can, there are many agents like cannibals, who aim to take players to teams that want them.
“Inter paid 28 million euros to Sampdoria (in 2017) and, six months later, Manchester City offered 55 million,” Halis said.
