Arsenal are competing with Juventus to sign a midfielder, while Manchester United have been given a boost in their defender pursuit, according to Sunday’s European papers.
ARSENAL BATTLING JUVE FOR MIDFIELDER
Arsenal are battling Juventus for the signing of Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal this summer, according to a report.
The Chile midfielder, 31, moved to the Nou Camp from Bayern Munich on a three-year deal over summer – but speculation has suggested his stay could be a short one.
Last year, he admitted on social media that he is “irritated” by his lack of game time, and reports in Spain claimed senior Barca stars have now urged the club to sell on the midfielder.
Now, a report from Spanish outlet Don Balon claims that the Gunners are among the two teams who are monitoring the situation surrounding Vidal.
The north London giants will lose Aaron Ramsey at the end of the season, and are apparently looking for competition for midfield duo Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny.
However they are not alone in their interest, as former side Juventus are interested in bringing Vidal back to Turin, the report claims.
